The Georgia Broadband Initiative recently announced an update to the Georgia Broadband Map. This latest update pinpoints actual unserved locations. Once again, the map is the first in the nation on groundbreaking advances. This is the first time any effort in broadband mapping has gone this granular, thanks to the work of the Carl Vinson Institute of Government. To see individual locations, users zoom in on the map. This level of granularity allows users to see actual clusters of unserved households. Next up for the project team is a map showing the locations the state has identified as GBDI grant eligible.
The Georgia Broadband Map project was recently selected as a finalist in the University Economic Development Association’s 2021 Awards of Excellence in the Place + Innovation category.
