Bio:
Dessa is an interdisciplinary ecologist and Resilience Liaison with UGA’s Defense
Community Resilience Program (DCRP) and the Institute of Government’s Infrastructure
and Community Resilience Division. She works closely with military installations and
surrounding communities to enhance their resilience by supporting existing research;
identifying funding opportunities; and developing and advancing projects that provide
economic, social, and environmental benefits. She builds and manages collaborative
relationships between military installations, local governments and communities, and
researchers and practitioners at UGA and other universities.
